Executive Artistic Director of Hudson Classical Theater company in NYC, Susane oversees a five production season, including three summer shows, Veterans Day Commemoration, and a spring production. Susane writes, directs, produces for HCTC and created their "WAGG" (Writers a Go-Go) contemporary reading series. Susane writes original adaptations of classical works, including "Emma," "Pride and Prejudice," and "Sense & Sensibility" by Jane Austen. Susane also was the first to adapt for the stage "The Three Musketeers: 20 Years Later," by Alexandre Dumas. She also adapted "The Three Musketeers," "The Man in the Iron Mask," and "The Count of Monte Cristo," by Dumas.Susane also writes documentaries for the stage: She has interviewed veterans of WWII and of Vietnam has told their stories for the stage. Susane produces programming to take into jails. With Warehouse actors, they have performed for inmates at Rikers, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Bronx jails.As a director, she most recently directed Lucy Wang's one woman show, "The Silver Menace," for the Downtown Urban Artist Festival in the summer of 2023. Susane was a two-time nominee for Best Director for the Take Ten Festival and directed many screenplays for the Writers Guild of America, East at Lincoln Film Center. Susane also directed for 365 Women a Year Festival. As a Producer/Writer, has worked for PBS for more than 15 years & has traveled throughout the U.S. to more than 100 cities, producing & writing 1-hour, prime-time PBS documentaries.Finalist for 2013 Wai Look Award, given by Asian American Arts Alliance for those who have "outstandingly contributed to the arts." Awarded an Urban Artist Initiative Grant Fellow for Literature in 2006. Awarded a NY Foundation for the Arts Fellowship grant for Nonfiction Literature in 2005.Lifetime Member of the Writers Guild of America, East since 1993.
