Since joining Berman & Simmons in 2006, I have represented clients throughout Maine who have been harmed by personal injury and medical negligence. I handle medical malpractice and wrongful death cases and lead the firm’s mass tort practice, which involves dangerous drug and medical device litigation. As a lawyer, I am motivated by compassion for my clients and an interest in medicine. From a young age, I knew I wanted to become a lawyer, in hopes of making a significant impact on people’s lives. Today, I am proud to be recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” and named to Benchmark Litigation’s “Under 40 Hot List.” I am a graduate of Bowdoin College where I majored in Government Studies and Asian Studies. After college I worked as a paralegal on high-profile intellectual property cases at a major Boston law firm. I then joined the Peace Corps and served in Morocco, teaching English to local high school students and French to women in the community. Following my work in the Peace Corps, I chose to return home to pursue my law degree at the University of Maine School of Law. Currently, I am co-chair of the Women’s Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association and a board member of the Robbie Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides funding for adaptive equipment and therapies for special needs children.
