This position manages the IS Project Office for Information Services to ensure that IS projects are appropriately planned, governed and implemented. This includes management of other project managers, projects, operating level agreements, and system/process policies and documentation. This position collaborates with management, project stakeholders, and Information Services colleagues to develop project scope, scorecard, plans and deliverables for complex, enterprise-wide projects that support university goals. In addition, the Manager effectively communicates and manages project expectations, success criteria, scope changes and progress reports to team members, stakeholders and IT governance in a timely and clear fashion.

The primary responsibilities are to manage a broad range of IT related projects, manage new access requests for the University's ERP system (Banner), manage requests for changes in access to Banner, and provide Banner training. Managing IT projects includes such things as replacing outdated servers, working with an application owner and a group of IT people to upgrade an application, and assisting departments on the technical side with their search for new applications to help them with their business processes. Searching for a new application generally involves the following: assisting with creating an RFP (the technical portion of the document), reading through RFP responses, attending vendor demos, conducting technical and security calls with the vendor, conducting reference calls, selecting a vendor and then moving to the implementation phase. The implementation phase generally involves working with the application owner, the vendor and other technical resources to get the application installed on servers on our campus and our network or set things up so that it is hosted with the vendor. This position also involves some testing of our ERP system when there is an upgrade and participating in an annual audit of access requests and changes to the system. Additional responsibilities include tracking server inventory and specs, an annual physical inventory of servers, an annual inventory report for insurance purposes, and other reporting needs of the AVP for Information Services.

The primary responsibilities are to create, oversee, and manage the University’s Operating, Endowment, and Personnel Budgets. This includes ensuring there is sufficient labor budget for all new hires/promotions. Additionally, this position is the primary contact for all Banner related projects, testing, and updates and will serve on the University’s Policy Committee, Software Standards Committee and Banner Users Group. This position will be responsible for completing various external financial reports and surveys on behalf of the university. Additionally, this position is responsible for creating financial reports using the Discoverer and MicroStrategy reporting tools.
