Also in 2018, Susan was made a Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing and named a BIMA 100 CEO and Leaders shaping the digital industry . She is a Freeman of the City of London. Born in the USA, Susan has resided in the UK since 1985, and now divides her time between the USA and UK.Susan is the founder of Hallam, one of the UK's top digital marketing agencies. This is a not a claim the agency makes lightly: In 2024 Hallam was awarded Best SEO Agency at the European Search Awards, B2B Agency of the Year at the UK Agency Awards, Best Global PPC agency at the Global Search Awards, and Campaign Magazine's 100 Best Places to Work 2024. Hallam is B Corp™ certifiedIn 2021, Hallam successfully completed an MBO. Susan retains a minority interest in the company she founded, and she has now returned to her roots working as an independent marketing consultant, coach, mentor and speaker. Formerly a Senior Lecturer in Computing at Nottingham Trent University with specialist interest in digital technologies, Susan also held senior digital marketing roles at BT and Capital One before establishing Hallam Internet in 1999. Her professional life is enhanced by years of volunteering in the arts and heritage sector, currently as a museum and gardens guide at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota.
