About Susan Hall Webb, Ph.D.
Through my professional experience, I have been continually evolving and developing myself into an excellent and outstanding educator, researcher, and contributor in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service in the fields of business communication and business education. The driving force in my teaching is my desire to be the best educator I can be. I accomplish this through well-thought out learning strategies, having fair and consistent approaches to my grading and course policies, and putting the students first in their development and utilization of concepts discovered in my courses. Overall, I believe through the integration of research and service within my teaching endeavors, the focus shifts to the “big picture”, which includes all aspects, but, most importantly, is the understanding that students play a vital and imperative role…without the students there wouldn’t be effective teaching.I am a firm believer of life-long learning and demonstrate this through my commitment to scholarship and research by either conducting research projects, writing articles and reports that contribute to my profession, or reading and reviewing the work of my colleagues in order to gain knowledge or further explore research questions that have been stated. My research agenda is ever-evolving and continually in motion. Another important part of my profession is my commitment to service at all levels. I believe that service is not just a stated requirement of my position in academia, but it is a pleasure to contribute and work alongside colleagues from different disciplines, organizations, and other institutions. In conclusion, as you will discover in this profile, I have spent my entire professional life building my career through my contributions to teaching, scholarship, and service as an educator. I truly understand that my career is continually evolving and my desire to be involved in my profession is non-stop.
