As a 30 year fundraising professional with proven results in the Metro Nashville area, Susan Hosbach understands how to help nonprofit CEOs and boards meet their philanthropic goals through her position with Lighthouse Counsel. She is passionate about building long lasting relationships, connecting donors to missions that are important to them.Susan's career began in sports broadcasting for a local television affiliate in Boise, Idaho. For the next fifteen years, she was in business development with several different companies and lived in Seattle, New York and Dallas. When she moved to Nashville in 1992, Susan joined Second Harvest Food Bank and has been in nonprofit management and fundraising ever since. After 30 years of working in the nonprofit sector, she is now a lead consultant with Lighthouse Counsel, helping nonprofit organizations with fundraising, planning and board development.Her volunteer work has also been varied and very important. Susan served on the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) International Board of Directors from 2001-2006, and was elected to serve as Vice Chair for both the Membership Services and External Relations divisions. She has served on numerous committees and task forces, including Strategic Planning, and chaired the Governance Transition Task Force. Susan is past chair of the AFP US Foundation for Philanthropy and still serves on several fundraising committees. She is a past president of the AFP Nashville Chapter and a board member from 1995-2005. In 2002, Susan was named the Fundraising Executive of the Year by AFP Nashville Chapter. At the 2011 AFP Leadership Academy in Montreal, she was awarded the Barbara Marion Award for Leadership and was selected for the Class of 2020 Distinguished Fellows.Susan is a frequent instructor on a variety of fundraising topics, and enjoys her local community involvement. She is an alumnus of Leadership Franklin and Leadership Middle Tennessee. She is also a past chair of the Williamson County Library Foundation.
