Susan Kensky is a seasoned manager with 30+ years of experience in finance, housing, and strengthening NYC neighborhoods.In her role as Assistant Commissioner of New Construction Finance at the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, overseeing a budget of more than $100M per annum, she financed over 25,000 new housing units, developed and implemented innovative programs and public-private partnerships to create additional units and led various efforts to enhance the economic viability of neighborhoods by including commercial redevelopment, day care, and cultural institutions within housing developments. A tough but fair negotiator, she was responsible for coordinating dozens of complex projects simultaneously and bringing them to closing and ultimately completion of construction. Susan has worked extensively with public agencies, NGOs, and non profits in rebuilding neighborhoods and developing new communities.Susan is responsible for daily operations management, quality control, and financial management at Firebrand. With her 33-year career at HPD, Susan brings unparalleled knowledge of the New York City economic ecosystem to all of Firebrand's projects.
