I controlled a £200,000 budget, managed a team of 11 personnel involved in marketing, public relations and information services, and was solely responsible for the development, implementation and analysis of all strategic planning and campaigning.Motivating internal support for the department was an essential aspect of my work and helped me successfully complete major marketing projects such as the re-branding and re-launch of all corporate literature, and a 30% increase in customer inquiries.

I frequently wrote up to 40 stories a week for the four key titles owned by the Chronicle group, as well as syndicating stories to other titles owned by Thomson and Trinity Mirror such as The Daily Post, Liverpool Echo and The Mirror, where many of my former colleagues now work as correspondents.
