Susan Klaus is the Founder and Executive Director for Agape Ranch and CEO for Agape Harbor. Grounded in her experience in, and passionate commitment to, working with at-risk children, Agape Ranch is a forward-thinking and compassionate community-based solution to the foster care crisis facing America today. Agape Harbor is a faith-based Child Placing Agency that licenses families for foster and/or adoption in the Coastal Bend. It is also the only agency to provide transitional living care for youth ages 18 - 23.Susan's heart for at-risk children and adoption began during her college years. She served in the slums of Thailand in partnership with Compassion International and working with at-risk children in poverty or at risk of being sold into the sex trafficking industry. She has also worked with orphan care ministries and at-risk children in Haiti, Mexico, Ecuador, Colorado, and Texas. Over a period of nine years, Susan and her husband have fostered ten children and provided respite care for many children.
