About Susan Lee Hahn
Two guiding principles that have steered my professional life and my personal projects are -- Discover the Story and Make a Difference. Both have their roots in the concept of transformation and both inspire change. As a realtor in Nashville, TN, I am always on the lookout for new developments and work closely with investors, developers, architects, and builders to find that blank canvas and tell a new story on the landscape, hopefully one with a pleasing aesthetic and a commitment to honor the environment. As a writer, content creator, screenwriter, and brand storytelling workshop leader, I've worked with ad agencies, brands, and nonprofits and have helped clients such as GoArmy.com, Orbitz, The Chicago Charity Challenge, and many others. As an accomplished screenwriter, I taught screenwriting at DePaul University, essay writing at The School of the Art Institute, and have written dozens of screenplays, a couple of novels, and have a new collection of short fiction. My new passion is exploring the Female Myth and recently conducted a workshop of the same name for content creators (writers, directors, etc.) to help them create authentic and empowered female characters, taking them from stereotype to archetype. My work in Corporate Social Responsibility began when I was the Executive Director of the Chicago Charity Challenge, a nonprofit startup that championed employee engagement for an eight-month competition.. I personally signed up twenty, high-profile companies, matched them with a likeminded partner charity, and designed programs for fundraising and volunteering. In the first year, the twenty teams raised over six million dollars and volunteered over 200,000 hours.I've also been a strong proponent of sustainability in building. As a realtor in Nashville, I love working with investors, architects, and developers who are equally dedicated to sustainable building products.
Listed skills include Versatile Writer, Screenwriting, Content Strategy, Marketing Communications, and 18 others.

Freelance Writer
CurrentRealtor
While in Nashville, I became an enthusiast and a champion of mass timber products -- Tall Wood and CLT (Cross-laminated Timber) -- because I believe that by changing the way we build our cities in this century, we could slow down or reverse climate change. I worked with architects, builders, and developers who all had a similar vision to build with the utmost in sustainability and conscience. After researching and exploring mass timber products and their capabilities for over a year, I had the great fortune to work with the talented team of the Timber and Innovations Division of Lendlease and championed a couple of projects on their behalf. I also worked with architects and developers who are dedicated to energy efficiency, Net Zero building, and are eager to work with the new Tesla Solar Energy products. We've all been in conversations regarding this opportunity and others. I've maintained my connections and relationships and am active in Nashville's vibrant and evolving real estate market.
Consulting & Brand Storytelling Seminars
Purposeful storytelling unleashes great power. As the heroes of our own journeys, we can imagine and participate in our personal transformations. As a freelance content writer, screenwriter, and producer, it has been my aim to inform, inspire, and illuminate the inner journey, hoping to help others tap into their inner power. One of the highlights for me this year has been the success of the documentary, No Greater Love, a film that I've championed for over five years and served as an Associate Producer to support filmmaker and former Army Chaplain Justin Roberts. The film chronicles his deployment in Afghanistan during an intense and critical time (2010-2011), and continues with the war at home as veterans grapple with PTSD and unprecedented numbers of suicides in the military. The film had a fantastic run at many high-profile film festivals, including the Nashville International Film Festival. As a writer and a producer, I believe it's my responsibility and my privilege to introduce new perceptions and to make the world a more compassionate place.
Executive Director
When I began my role as the Executive Director in its inaugural year, The Chicago Charity Challenge (the Chicago Cha Cha), was more of an idea than it was a full-fledged organization. As a "startup" nonprofit organization, I was instrumental in everything from creating the brand, writing the tagline ("Giving just became a team sport"), writing the marketing/website content, and helping to design the logo and the website's, along with engaging twenty high-profile Chicago companies in a regional fundraising and volunteering competition. It was a great joy to be the "matchmaker" and to help join forces between some iconic Chicago companies (e.g. Quaker, Mars, Groupon, Harley Davidson, and Fannie May) with well-run, non profits like the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, Common Threads, and the Second Harvest Food Bank. These worthy nonprofits established new relationships in the corporate world, while the businesses created unique opportunities for their employees to get involved in the community and to give back in meaningful ways. Everyone was a winner. In the first year, the Chicago Charity Challenge partnerships collaboratively raise over $6 million dollars and donated more than 22,000 volunteer hours. Subsequent years have continued to raise money, raise awareness, and enhance camaraderie across profit and nonprofit boundaries. All this was made possible by the hard work, generosity, and dedication of the founding sponsor and main benefactor, Call One, along with the Chicago Cha Cha Champions, Craig and Terri Foster.
