As a communications director, business owner, writer, journalist, and editor, I've published investigative articles, led rebranding projects, assigned and edited articles for publication, and published in-depth articles on topics from animal rights to near-earth objects to chronic absenteeism in the public schools. I'm currently working on a book-length nonfiction manuscript, and in 2021 I was selected to be part of the Lighthouse Writers Book Project, where I was a member of a cohort of six women around the world crafting their first nonfiction books. As an author, my focus has been on literary essays, with publications in numerous journals and online magazines including Guernica, The Rumpus, and Longreads. My literary work has received funding from the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund for feminist women in the arts. My first (draft) book was a finalist in the 2018 Tucson Book Festival Literary Awards, and my essays have been recognized by the Glass Mountain Awards for Poetry & Prose (Winner, Nonfiction) and New Millennium Writing Awards (Finalist and Honorable Mention, Nonfiction).
