I worked with Dr. Ijiri on testing the effectiveness of an inverted linear Halbach array for separating magnetic nanoparticles. The tests included pumping a solution of iron oxide particles suspended in toluene over the channel with varying concentrations of particles at varying heights above the array. The results were then collected in vials and tested in a vibrating sample magnetometer. I analyzed the results in Mathematica and made many comparative graphs and also wrote summary documents.
