Susannah is a Martu/Darlot woman originally from Western Australia, now residing in Naarm (Melbourne). She is the granddaughter of Ivy Kilmurray, a Stolen Generation survivor born at Wongawol Station near Wiluna. Currently serving as CEO at The Torch, Susannah oversees the organisation's financial health, fundraising, governance, people and culture, operations, and strategic vision. Her journey with The Torch began as Program Manager in January 2019, and she was later appointed as their inaugural General Manager in July 2022. The Torch’s mission is to enhance cultural connections and arts practices among First Nations artists in the Victorian prison system and post-release.Susannah is deeply committed to providing artists with the resources and platforms necessary to tell their stories and practice art and Culture. She is inspired by the incredible work of First Nations communities who have made great strides towards equity. Susannah has seen the impact that First Peoples-led programs can have on communities, and she works at the coalface to close the gap.Prior to her tenure at The Torch, Susannah held pivotal roles including Head of Programs & Operations at Brunswick Mechanics Institute under Next Wave, Dance Massive Coordinator for the City of Melbourne and Producer at The Blue Room Theatre in Boorloo (Perth, WA).She was appointed to the board of the Queen Victoria Women's Centre Trust in 2022.

Box Office And Ticketing ManagerFringe World Festival Oct 2011 - Mar 2012To research, implement and manage the box office and ticketing systems and processes for the Fringe World Festival 2012. During the festival my position also oversaw all venue management to ensure competent and smooth FOH & Box Office management was delivered. My responsibilities also included all budget management and reporting for acquittal purposes.

AdministratorPleasance Theatre Jul 2011 - Aug 2011Pleasance is an independent theatre in North London, and during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, it becomes the biggest venue of the fringe with 21 venues, 150 theatre companies and 214 performances. My role throughout the 2011 festival was to look after and liaise with companies, artists and producers. A team of five administrators worked as the intermediary between Pleasance as a venue and theatre companies, individual artists, press, arts industry members and promoters. I coordinated the ticketing system for companies, arts industry requests and acted as a port of call for producers in the two venues.

Assistant Project Coordinator - Wa Young People In The Arts Fellowship RecipientFrantic Assembly Aug 2010 - Nov 2010In 2010 I was awarded the West Australian Young People in the Arts Fellowship form the WA Department of Culture and the arts. I was awarded $15,000 to complete an International professional development period. I chose to spend my 8-weeks with preeminent physical theatre company Frantic Assembly working on their youth arts project based in East London – Ignition. Working alongside General Manager Laura Sutton, I coordinated all of the administration processes, liaised with all of the participants, participated in workshop practitioner training and coordinated the final production at Toynbee Studios. Whilst there I was mentored by Laura Sutton and Lisa Maguire, the General Manager and Executive Producer of Frantic Assembly.
