JOURNEY / SCHOOL has created free, open spaces for presentation, discussion and thought, based around the fundamental concept of free knowledge exchange. SCHOOL is a free and open space, not tied to or associated with anywhere, space, place or institution in particular. It has no aim further than that which focuses on the exchange of pure knowledge, from many different contributors on many different subjects. SCHOOL operates around the moment of knowledge exchange, participation and collaboration, and does not function around a, or any, basis of success. It is not an alternative, but an additional practice of and in education. JOURNEY began as the written and archival counterpart or component to the SCHOOL seminars and salons and now exists as AOTCS.JOURNEY / SCHOOL is a nomadic seminar and salon programme working in collaboration with numerous existing spaces, networks, frameworks and practices producing space and time for people to present their work and ideas in exchange for thought and opinion. During 2012 and 2013 we worked in collaboration with THECUBE, London, producing monthly, free and open round-table discussions under the idea of 'BRAINPLAY'. Subjects discussed spanned the Arts, Humanities, Technology, Politics and Sciences with specialists from these fields leading the discussion.JOURNEY / SCHOOL is in motion, and presently existing under various guises.www.thecontemporaryspirit.tumblr.com
