Working on the UK's Covid-19 testing programme. I manage a small team supporting two senior directors, and work on complex policies including borders testing and managing the country’s testing supply networks as we respond to coronavirus.I also spent two weeks locuming as Private Secretary to the Health Secretary, Sajid Javid, covering the vaccine supply portfolio.

Worked closely with the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, who attended Cabinet, and his special advisor. Briefed him ahead of national media appearances and helped to execute our department’s media strategy in the face of the Covid pandemic.I also worked on national announcements and policies including the furlough scheme, self employment income support scheme and universal credit.

Having started on the Newsdesk, I am now a Press Officer for Housing Delivery and Housing Supply, regularly briefing ministers and placing stories in national publications, from the Sun and the Daily Mail, to consumer press like Stylist and LadBible.

Aside from my work at the Sun, my exclusive work has been published in outlets including Vice, the Evening Standard and i News. My investigation into an increase in stalking offences in London was published prominently in the Standard, as was my personal op-ed on brain tumours in the i paper.

I worked regular shifts on the Sun Online newsdesk, where I wrote high quality news articles, exclusive piece and covered breaking news - all at a fast pace. My articles were regularly splashed on the homepage and required me to liaise with the video, picture desk and legal team.I worked weekend, day and night shifts.

Following a week's work experience at the Independent, where three of my articles were published, all achieving over 5000 shares, I continued to write for the student section of the website on an ad hoc basis. All of my articles have been shared on the main Independent Facebook and Twitter.
