I have written more than 25 books translated into 17 languages, and have ghosted and edited many more. My talent-development role involved working with publishers to build lists and train editors, find and nurture new authors and book ideas, then guide writers from first idea to finished book. I devised and taught masters modules in non-fiction, editing and professional practice, and supervised students' extended projects and writing industry research. In 2007 I was part of the small team that conceived and created the world's first fully online masters course in writing, and as Writing Co-ordinator I helped develop an MFA. I have extensive experience teaching writing online, including lecturing PGCHE students on online pedagogy, and have set up research projects on online mentoring. In 2011 I won an award for outstanding performance.My non-fiction students have been published by Ebury, Bloomsbury, Icon, HarperCollins, Unbound, Little Toller, Square Peg, The History Press, John Blake, Jessica Kingsley Publishers. They have won the The Biographers' Club Tony Lothian Prize and been longlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year.

Overseeing pregnancy and childcare, complementary health and organic lists, developing and championing new book ideas and finding new authors and editing talent. I ran a team of 30 in-house and freelance editors in the UK, US and India.Previous to this I worked as Editor and Senior Editor (1988–92) on food, music, gardening, beauty and crafts titles.
