I'm an experienced photographic educator and administrator and am a full time faculty member at Little Red Schoolhouse-Elisabeth Irwin High School, a progressive independent school in New York City. I rebuilt both the curricula and the photography facilities at LREI, devising a new program that makes photography accessible and meaningful for students in grades 9-12. My classes are part of a greater arts curricula, a key component of LREI's progressive education, with dedicated time for all students to experience both visual and performing arts.Previously I was on the faculty of the One Year Certificate programs at The International Center of Photography, following many years as an adjunct Associate Professor at Hofstra University. I have also taught at numerous other NYC area colleges and museum based programs, working with a range of students and learning needs. At ICP I also honed my skills as an administrator, working as the Senior Coordinator of Continuing Education Content and Curriculum. I programmed extensive online and onsite continuing education courses and completed a core curricular revision, building a comprehensive library of courses for faculty. As an artist, I primarily work at the intersection of New York City and its waterways. My series explore urban water use and reframe landscape as an inclusive space. My solo and group museum and gallery exhibitions include Baxter Street, Governor's Island, Fordham University, The Bronx Museum, Benrubi Gallery, and The Museum of the City of New York. My photographs have been widely published and reviewed, notably in The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Independent, and The British Journal of Photography. I have published two monographs of photography, New York Waterways (Hoxton Mini Press, London, UK) and Right Coast (self-published).
