As Head of Design at Trade Me, I set the strategy and vision for Design across the company, evangelising for the quality and practice of both our product design (web and native apps) and our communications design (brand and visual design). I worked closely with Design Leads across five key business areas ensuring Design was well represented and understood across the company. From junior designers, technical teams, researchers and marketers, to heads of business, I helped ensure that our design practice, process and output was effective and on-brand.For our Design Guild (~35 designers across three cities and five business units), my role was to ensure that designers had the support, environment, opportunities and inspiration that they needed to collaborate and do their best work.For me, it was, and always will be about consistent, on-brand user experience that creates a relevant, trusted brand that Kiwis know and love.I also thoroughly enjoyed being an ambassador for Trade Me Design speaking at events such as CreativeMornings Wellington, Dribbble Auckland, NZ Marketing Summit, Managing Design Melbourne (UX Australia) and Design Assembly.
