I was responsible for the management of Glasgow School of Art's Archives and Collections service. This comprised visitor services, collection management, and outreach & engagement work. My role involved staff, resource and project management, alongside teaching and research activities. A particular focus over recent years was the Archives and Collections Recovery Project (2014-2021), a programme of conservation, digitisation, space re-development and outreach work which resulted from GSA's Mackintosh Building fire in May 2014.

In this role I was responsible for Glasgow School of Art's archives. My work included managing archive staff and resources, project planning, and overseeing the acquisition, cataloguing, preservation and use of archive material. I was also involved in a range of outreach activities such as exhibitions, seminars and workshops which promoted the use of GSA's historical collections as a learning, teaching and research resource.

I spent 40% of this post as an Assistant Archivist responsible for the monitoring and development of customer service provision. The other 60% of my time was spent as the Archivist for the Scottish Brewing Archive (SBA). I was responsible for the SBA's archive, library and artefact collections, with a particular focus on promotional activities, such as talks, archive displays, and publicity materials.

My duties included invigilating the service’s reading room, dealing with user enquiries, and cataloguing archival material.
