My role focuses on patient and public involvement and engagement with the biomedical, clinical and health-related research carried out by the Manchester Biomedical Research Centre.I work with biomedical and health-related researchers to integrate patient and public involvement and engagement into their research.

I managed and led a team of 23 staff to develop and deliver innovative, life-enhancing learning experiences for schools, families and adults including working historic machinery demonstrations, lively science shows and hands-on workshops.I had responsibility for the departmental operations including health and safety, forward planning and managing the annual budget.

I managed a series of three 'pop up' science festivals, jointly funded by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, which delivered against ambitious KPIs to bring in new visitors from disadvantaged backgrounds who are disengaged with science.I line managed an Event Developer and freelance coordinator, led interdepartmental teams and held a budget of £150,000. I led MSI's contemporary science programme, managing and delivering over 30 public engagement events each year, for a variety of audiences, resulting in over 41,000 instances of meaningful engagement with visitors between April 2014 and March 2016. I developed and delivered the museum's Public Programme including historical and scientific demonstrations and presentations.

I oversaw the redevelopment of MOSI's interactive science gallery.I developed exhibit ideas and interpretation, organised evaluation sessions with target audiences, worked with an interdepartmental team and liaised with external funding and design partners.

I delivered formal learning history sessions for all Key Stages at Staircase House and other heritage sites in Stockport, including Mellor Archaeological Site, Bramall Hall and Stockport Story Museum. I also ran outreach activities at community events.
