I have been an arts journalist, editor, and museum professional in the Minnesota arts scene for more than 15 years. As a writer and critic, I've contributed to a number of local and national publications, including Hyperallergic, MinnPost, City Pages, The Growler, Rain Taxi Review of Books, Public Art Review, American Craft magazine, and others. I currently work at the Weisman Art Museum, leading their communications and marketing team. Prior to this position, I was on staff at Minnesota Museum of American Art (the M). I spearhead storytelling strategies and generate content for the museum's website, blog, email marketing, and social media channels, as well as advertising, publicity, and institutional communications, from wayfinding signage and press releases to digital and print newsletters. Before my work in museum communications, I served as Editor-in-Chief of Mn Artists, a web-based platform for Minnesota artists based at the Walker Art Center. My background is a bookish one: Back in the day, I edited Ruminator magazine, a terrific little nationally distributed arts & lit mag based out of the Twin Cities. There I cut my editorial teeth interviewing and working with an eclectic range of artists and writers operating on a national stage: The Yes Men, Paul Provenza, Roy Blount Jr, Kinky Friedman, Fran Lebowitz, Anna Deavere Smith, Penn Jillette, Jhumpa Lahiri, David Sedaris and Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket), Steve Almond, Pam Houston, Harvey Pekar.
