Contributed to a study on women’s economic empowerment (WEE) and GBV. Implemented a systematic review on WEE interventions in LMIC that have a measurement of GBV. Coordinated the recruitment process of key personnel from programs and studies on WEE and GBV in sub-Saharan Africa, conducted interviews, developed a priori codes, coded the interviews in Atlas.ti, and analyzed specific themes in the findings which I co-presented in Washington DC to USAID in December and am helping develop into a report.

Contributed to the design of a primary GBV prevention intervention with adolescent girls in a slum community in Mumbai. Conducted a literature review on the health and development of adolescent girls in South Asia in order to inform the conceptual framework and development of the intervention. Reviewed and synthesized materials for life skills curriculum development. Substantially contributed to the monitoring and evaluation plan including the conceptual framework, logic model, and the experimental evaluation design.

Jodhpur, India

Cultivated relationships with over 20 partner organizations, 35 host families and supported over 40 interns to enhance the capacity of community organizations in Jodhpur. Trained interns on topics in sustainable development, cross-cultural communication, project design, implementation, management and evaluation, proposal writing, fundraising and successfully working with local non-governmental organizations and community-based organizations. Developed a framework for the monitoring and evaluation of FSD Jodhpur programs and developed and implemented process evaluations and outcome assessments of our partner programs. Disseminate the results to US office and partner organizations and used the data to inform the FSD Jodhpur 2012 Program Development Work Plan.

Developed a training package for government health workers on best practices in neonatal health as part of the Uganda Newborn Survival Study (UNEST) at the Makerere University School of Public Health, a cluster-randomized study on an integrated maternal-newborn care package that links community-based and facility care.
