Joined Bankers Trust (became Deutsche Bank) in the Energy Merchant Bank (EMB) in Houston doing M&A advisory work. Was quickly promoted and recruited over to Sales and Trading as part of a small team in the Strategic Risk Advisory group that initiated and then led the unprecedented spin-off of client Shell Oil's energy marketing operation into a new entity, Coral Energy (now Shell Trading). Subsequent to the spin-off, her three person team at Bankers Trust was integrated into Coral to build and run the company's large scale risk management directive. Subsequently promoted again and charged with launching and building Coral's energy derivatives origination effort as well as recruiting and training its new Financial Products sales group. During this time, also worked closely with Coral's multi-national industrial and utility clients including DSM Copolymer, BASF, Mead Paper, Bethlehem Steel, Georgia Pacific, Southern California Edison and KeySpan Energy, to introduce, develop, structure and execute energy derivative hedging programs.As a Bankers Trust (acquired by Deutsche Bank) investment banker solely dedicated to the Coral Energy relationship, went on to serve Coral in a number of other positions. Spent a year and a half in Boston leading Coral's East Coast Financial Products origination effort and then almost three years as the on-site Financial Products Risk Manager for Coral's client, KeySpan Energy (now National Grid), the Long Island utility.Strategic Risk Advisory team won Euromoney Magazine's coveted "Risk Advisor of the Year" award for three years in a row. Additionally, Corporate Finance team, the Energy Merchant Bank, was awarded Institutional Investor's prestigious "Deal of the Year" magazine cover and award while with the group.
