I am serving my second term as a member of the Garland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. In this capacity, I work fellow directors to support the business and economic development of the City of Garland, and members of the Chamber of Commerce.

Garland ISD serves the tri-cities of Garland, Sachse, and Rowlett, Texas. Located in the DFW metroplex, Garland ISD is a leader in providing excellence and opportunity to the 53,000 students we serve. Garland ISD is a leader in innovation, proudly offering School Choice, magnet campuses, and early college high schools and pathways in technology early college high schools at all 7 high school campuses. Team Accomplishments Include:• District CCMR increased from 44% to86% and School Quality Status for CCMR rose from 50% to 100% of indicators met• Four-year graduation rate increased from 94.4% to 96.5% and Graduation Status increased from 70% to 90% of indicators met• Relative performance increased from 60.6% to 74% even as the district economically disadvantaged rate increased to 78%• Relative performance raw score for STAAR and CCMR increased from 49 to 62.• Successfully led the rebranding efforts of a high school mascot, with community support, from the Southern Colonels to The Titans• Served for one year as both Chief Academic and Chief Leadership Officer, until a CAO was identified• Implemented Teacher Advocacy Task Force as a bridge from classroom to central office• District academic growth component score increased from 68 to 75• Partnership with The Holdsworth Center to refine the leadership pipeline• Awarded 6 TEA School Action Fund redesign grants• Implemented both a P-TECHS and Early College HS at each of the 7 high schoolcampuses as the “College4All” program • Successful implementation of ACE turnaround model at two campuses• Increase in campus performance for 2 Improvement Required campuses – moved from an F to a B rating• Redesigned the Principal Leadership Pipeline, to include selection and recruitment processes• Developed a year-long Principal Learning Plan and Assistant Principal Learning Plan• Decreased discretionary removals for disciplinary infractions each school year• 2015-2022 Best Communities for Music Education Recipient

I supervised 16 schools located in and near the valley of El Paso Texas. These top-rated campuses prepare approximately 17,000 students for higher education, careers, and life. Ysleta ISD is nationally recognized for closing opportunity gaps and for being a transformational leader in dual language literacy. Ysleta ISD was named a Broad Prize Finalist in both 2010 and 2011, a reflection of the commitment of its teachers and campus administrators.
