I knew I wanted my own business at the age of 8 and that it would be a PR Agency by age 16 following extensive work experience with an international PR firm.After failing my A-levels twice, and not managing to talk my way in to university I wrote to 101 different PR Agencies looking for jobs. The one hundred and first gave me my big break age 19 and three years later I founded Limelight (now Definition) a central London based B2B PR agency in 2002. Quickly I proved my doubters wrong when PR Week named me their Young PR Professional of the year. And I have been fortunate to be recognised in many awards and leagues including the Growing Business Young Guns, London Business Awards, Marketing Week’s Rising Stars and Management Today/Sunday Times top 35 business women under the age of 35. This has really made up for the lack of A levels!I also grew Limelight internationally, setting up partnerships in Australia and the US and launched a wholly owned Limelight office in Dubai in 2011 and it was named New Agency of the year in The Middle East.After 16 years, in 2018 I sold Limelight through a trade sale and immediately reinvested to buy 10% of the agency that acquired me wanting to keep some entrepreneurial skin in the game. The merged agency has since been rebranded to Definition and I am proud to remain a very active shareholder and mentor to the business and its MD. Now post exit I am investing some of my new found spare time helping other agency founders grow and learn from her successes and failures.I am still a practicing PR expert and Agency founder, but also founder member of The Supper Club (for high growth entrepreneurs) and The Venturers Club (for people who have exited their business).
