I am a philologist and experienced TV reporter. In Singapore I write articles for monthly magazines and a cheeky column (under a nom de guerre) in German and sometimes in English. One of my biggest assets is the ability of story telling and the talent of connecting people from different continents and different worlds. Ask Randeep from the Worldbank Group or Carsten Boekholt from SAP. Quote of my daughter: „ Mama always gets what she wants“. Not exactly true though, because I still want to find the job which I love as much as my job as a TV reporter for the German Television back in Germany (as Susanne Lang). During the past 12 years in Africa and South East Asia I was intensively studying all different subjects at the „African and South East Asian University of Life Long Learning“ still curious and keen to investigate and transport my new impressions.My main focus in those years was to work as a team together with my husband Arne, correspondent of the biggest German newspaper. I provided ideas and contacts and did a lot of proof-reading. Being a journalist myself I have developed a good understanding what readers/viewers want to see and read. And I think only as a team you can successfully make the best out of 12 years adventure abroad. The team involves our children who always came first, because for me that is one of the most important tasks in life. To enhance and support the next generation. Now as they are almost grown up, it is my turn again. „Mama Mzungu“, my book project about the absurdities of life as a bavarian family in an East African country is work in progress.
