CCSLS is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free civil legal services to Contra Costa County residents who are aged 60 or older. In my role I am responsible for a variety of projects that bolster the organization overall. * Fundraising -- Manage all aspects of fundraising efforts including foundation and government grant applications and progress reports, Year-End appeals, Peer-to-Peer fundraising campaigns, Giving Tuesday campaigns, Board fundraising communications, Special event fundraisers, and exploring new revenue channels. Raised over $1.6 million through these efforts.*Organizational Development -- Develop projects that help strengthen the organization as a whole. Awarded two California Access to Justice Commission Grants -- one to conduct a Landscape Survey of Seniors Countywide & Toolkit and another to underwrite an Organizational Effectiveness Assessment for CCSLS. Organized All Staff Trainings on Cultural Humility and Implicit Bias. Obtain new tools & platforms to increase organizational efficiency (e.g., Salesforce, Google Ad Words Grant, Classy). Assist with Board Development efforts.* Evaluation -- Develop and conduct the organization's evaluation impact strategy by developing various survey instruments including a client satisfaction survey, partner survey, and volunteer survey. Gather, analyze data, and summarize salient findings to key stakeholder audiences and funders. * Marketing & Communications -- Develop and manage with staff various communications (e.g. Blog, MailChimp e-newsletters, Facebook posts, Canva designs, Wordpress website updates) as well as the annual report, and donor collateral. Managed consultants for Google Ad Campaigns.

Village Movement California is a coalition of grassroots community organizations called villages. Together with our partners we seek to revolutionize the experience of aging. As the Project Manager hired in the build up to the organization's launch, I worked on a variety of task areas including:* Branding & Marketing -- Worked closely with branding firm Mission Minded to complete a Naming process, Tagline creation, Website build & launch, Visual identity, and a Brand Toolkit.*Communications -- Wrote e-newsletters, handled correspondence with the Leadership Team, drafted progress reports for funder.*Team Lead -- Led various working teams to ensure major project areas were completed in a timely fashion: Covening Planning Team, Branding Core Team, Website Content Creation Team, Evaluation Working Team. * Launch Planning -- Organized and handled all aspects of Village Movement California's Organizational Launch on two separate daylong meetings in Northern California & Southern California for over 100 attendees including meeting site selection and BEO arrangements, agenda building, registration, meeting collateral, managing the planning team, and evaluation. * Meeting & Event Planning -- Organized and developed meeting agendas, drafted meeting minutes for monthly Leadership Team phone calls and quarterly in-person all day meetings, helped with all aspects of in-person meetings for the acting Board of Directors. *Membership Support -- Handled membership requests, processing, and on-going communications with our 30+ village members using Fundly.

Butterfly Careers, a boutique career coaching consulting practice, helped individuals seeking employment and/or managing career transitions. It offered resume writing, cover letters, personal coaching, career transition guidance and job search assistance.

* Worked on the James Irvine Foundation's Arts Regional Initiative evaluation and other projects.

* Managed the Emergency Loan Fund, the Arts Loan Fund, and the Summer Youth Project. Conducted due diligence and financial analysis on all Loan Fund applications, wrote proposal summaries and developed monthly dockets, managed three Steering Committees and communications with hundreds of grantees and loan applicants.* Raised over $1M in lending capital for the Loan Funds and grants for the Summer Youth Project.* Awarded a Packard Foundation Organizational Effectiveness in Philanthropy Grant to organize the “Strengthening Summer Programs” conference for 50 grantees.

* Produced an evaluation report for the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County that led to new program priorities for the board.* Primary author of Promising Practices, a guidebook on various civic engagement strategies for First Five. The guidebook, printed in English and Spanish, was distributed and shared with each First Five Children and Families Commission in California.* Client roster included: The League of California Community Foundations, The Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County, The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, The Civic Engagement Project for Children and Families, The California Policy Reform Network, and the San Joaquin County Human Services Agency.

* Implemented New Ventures in Philanthropy, a $20 million national initiative to encourage the growth of philanthropy nationwide by educating individuals and corporations on the joys of giving and the means of setting up foundations and giving programs. This initiative yielded over $300 million in grantmaking resources to support the nonprofit sector. * Organized an annual three-day convening for all New Ventures grantees and national funders. Assembled a volunteer planning team, designed the conference agenda, managed logistics including contract negotiations, speaker relations, conference materials and site communications.* Managed relationships with advisory board members, organized advisory board and task subcommittee meetings, worked with board chair to establish meeting agendas, prepared meeting materials, executed advisory board’s program priorities.
