As a general employee, my tasks included much more than simply operating a cash register, including:- Managed inventory through monitoring stock, placing orders, validating shipments, pricing, and stocking merchandise daily. - Maintained positive social media presence through posting photos of new merchandise, displays, hours, store closings, and other updates. - Curated displays for holidays or to feature new merchandise, ensuring that necessary product information and pricing was displayed in a clear, attention-grabbing manner. - Provided excellent customer service through greeting and assisting customers, while reminding them of other services offered such as complimentary gift wrapping.

When I first started at Best Buy, I exclusively worked the front registers, facilitating sales between $5-$15,000, often handling more than $75,000 during any shift. Quickly, I was promoted to the Sales Floor where I would greet customers, assess their needs, upsell and cross sell high value items, accessories, and protection plans, as well as encourage customers to apply for a Best Buy Credit Card, by explaining how it would benefit them. Lastly, I was promoted to Digital Sales for approximately half of my shifts, where I would work from home answering calls from customers looking to place an order. My tasks for Digital Sales were very comparable to my tasks on the Sales Floor, with the major addition of assisting customers through our Pay-By-Link service.
