I completed a seven week foundation covering Python and SQL, followed by six weeks specialising in full stack - React, HTML, CSS, Git and GitHub. For my final I worked on a team project, designing and building a fully functional website ‘The Youth Project’. I enjoyed the technical aspects of the course but most engaged with interface and design planning, working on our project heuristics, user stories and personas, and conducting user testing on our MVP.

Responsibilities:Reported directly to the US Sales Director.Developing products using insights from market research and customer buying behaviour.Creating product briefs from customer feedback and sales data.Producing tech packs to define product specifications and requirements.Working directly with technicians on product prototypes and features.Conducting competitor research to understand customer needs in the marketplace.Establishing and monitoring project timelines with technicians, China production team, and international sales reps.Price negotiation with vendors, producing costing sheets for lines ensuring target margin is achieved.Key highlights:The first collection was bought by the Mitchells Stores Group in the US, with lines selling out by September.Production consistently delivered on time, despite covid manufacturing delays and shipping challenges.

Responsibilities: Created and managed the design and production road map.Managed a team of designers and technical staff.Briefed design, production and marketing team on customer persona / user stories.Regular travel to China for product development and price negotiation.Used sales data to create informed product strategies.Worked directly with interior and external technical teams to risk assess bulk items to improve quality and reduce production wastage.Key highlights:The collection was rolled out to high profile retailers such as Matches, Galeries Lafayette and Harvey Nichols, due to the collection design, pricing and reliability of supply.Nominated for Brand of the Year award by Draper’s Record 2018.

Responsibilities:Presenting design solutions to buying team based on customer brief and business requirements.Worked directly with the King Deer technicians in Inner Mongolia 3-4 trips per year to manufacture prototypes and sales samples according to the product road map. Strategically grew the account, being directly responsible for £8 million of growth per annum.Key highlights:Due to my relationship with the buying team, King Deer UK became one of the top 10 suppliers to M&S womenswear, supplying 700K units a year with a retail value of 56 million per year.
