Executive DirectorAia Atlanta Oct 2007 - Jul 2015As Executive Director of the Atlanta Chapter, I provided overall operational, financial & strategic management for its nearly 1700 architect members and managed daily operations of chapter staff, while increasing the general operating budget from $350K to $650K by the end of my tenure. Responsibilities included working closely with volunteer leaders to facilitate long-range planning; establish organizational objectives and goals; assisting in seeking non-dues revenue opportunities through various programs and activities; chapter sponsorships and collaborative initiatives. The chapter Patron Program grew from inaugural year sponsor funding of $40K to over $110K funding by 2015. Successfully led the chapter through the economic downturn of 2008 - 2014 when unemployment and underemployment in the profession was nearly 60%. Co-managed twelve month project to select new office space, architect selection, design, construction and office relocation. Also coordinated substantial inkind furniture and fixtures donations for the new chapter headquarters. Co-chaired the 2015 AIA National Convention as the host chapter liaison with over 18,000 attendees bringing significant revenue to the chapter.
