* Developed software for EFI’s super-wide format hybrid inkjet printers.* Improved image quality using computer vision, communicating with the GenICam interface to an on-board industrial camera. Created test patterns that revealed printer characteristics, wrote software applications that analyzed the patterns, and proposed adjustments to various printer parameters to improve print quality.* Developed software that controlled hardware components internal and external to the printer. These components include analog height sensors, LED and UV curing lamps, nitrogen flow, heavy duty winders, on-board industrial camera, camera light ring, and more.* Built configurable software that could work with different hardware components and interfaces to keep up with the continually changing printer platforms. * Collaborated with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot hardware issues, as well as software issues at all levels in the code base.

* Key developer for Avid Media Access ("AMA"). This new plug-in architecture revolutionized support for various media formats (Sony XDCAM, Panasonic P2, RED, QuickTime, and Canon XF) which seamlessly brought the clips into Avid's flagship product Media Composer for video and audio editing.* The AMA team received a Primetime Emmy Engineering Plaque in 2010 for our contribution to broadcast workflows.* Developed AMA features in both the host and plugins for ancillary data support (closed captioning), playlist support, hiRes/proxy clip support, as well as UNC path support for cross platform workflows (Macintosh/PC).* Developed software in all areas of digital I/O, which is a layer of software that communicated with Avid's Mojo and Adrenaline devices over FireWire as well as the AJA board.* Extensive work with external device control for frame accurate video and audio capture, recording, HDV export to tape, GPIs, and VTR emulation. Developed the Windows asynchronous serial I/O (RS422) software for controlling professional VTR decks.* Developed the FireWire (1394) protocol software for controlling decks, cameras, and transcoders.* Worked on the Windows NT, Win2K, and WinXP serial drivers that communicate with the Sony VTR controller which controls a clip in Media Composer as if it were a tape in a deck.* Worked with the Tektronics Profile extended BVW commands for cross communication between Media Composer and the Tektronics Profile.* Developed software for all aspects of multichannel AirPlay, Avid's newsroom and commercial digital playback system.

Tewksbury, Massachusetts

* Designed and developed software to record images in the background onto ECRM's laser image recorders.* Implemented a QuickdrawGX driver which interfaced with ECRM's SCSI buffer to prove feasibility.* Developed the ECRM Screening PelBox export plugin for Adobe Photoshop. The plugin used ECRM's Nubus boards to screen and record the image onto the laser image recorder.

Woburn, Massachusetts

Developed the prototype scanning software for Hell's flatbed scanner which featured pre-scanning color correction where the user could interactively modify the color spline curves. Linotype bought Hell Graphics and transferred all the R&D work to Germany.

Wilmington, Massachusetts

Designed and developed software to translate the Intellifont DeskWriter (Bezier) fonts into Apple's TrueType (quadratic outline) format, as well as a Postscript parser program that extracted character outline data and converted the data into AGFA's Ikarus format.

Newport, Rhode Island

Developed anti-submarine defense software which retrieved data from various types of sonar devices and postulated the location of the threat based on this data and the temperature, depth, and salinity profiles of the surrounding ocean.
