Manage, develop and coordinate administrative support to newborn screening, community school health and multi-disciplinary autistic programs (MAP) for the Pediatric Department. Performed duties of back-up office manager and provided direct support to genetic counselor, geneticist, developmental pediatrician, nurse practitioner and psychologist.Newborn Screening Program• Coordinated screening/recording of 2,900 newborns in 2009. Including identifying 5 missed patient screenings in 2008 preventing possible risk management issue.• Maintained a high quality assurance standard with a 99% return rate of babies with abnormal screenings including clotted, contaminated or <24 hours specimens.• Arranged return appointments for 139 patients with a 40% show rate resulting in billable charges of $21,000. • Assisted in development of ACT 36 expanded newborn screening protocol and provided input to development of electronic log book tracking system. • Notified over 300 patients of positive hemoglobin screening and arranged for genetic counseling for 1/3 resulting in billable charges exceeding $20,000.• Prepare monthly statistical reports to Department of Health and Hospital administrators.Community School Health Program• Developed and maintained monthly rotation for 26 residents at 23 community health locations as required for RRC residency program.• Monitor resident and site location feedback and communicate to physician preceptor Multidisciplinary Autistic Program (MAP)• Administer intake process with parents, assess patient priority, coordinate training of residents administering M-CHAT diagnostic tool and facilitate outside site visitations.• Arrange and develop appointment schedule resulting in 95% patient show rate.• Implemented the set-up of an outside dictation service improving turn around and providing significant cost savings.
