She has been trained in the process of labor as well as comfort techniques that help the woman manage her labor for a positive, happy outcome. Studies have shown that women that have labor support during their labor have shorter labors, less C-Sect., less drugs and other interventions and a higher satisfaction with their delivery experience.Postpartum doulas support moms at home by providing current information on both newborns and breastfeeding as well as practical help new moms need such as sibling care, meals, laundry for the whole family, light housekeeping, shopping and errands.
