I teach communication skills and writing for the Osher Lifelong Learning program at Carnegie Mellon University. The course focuses on ways to communicate effectively with family, friends and business associates. "The Art of Conversation" is interactive and includes role playing, story telling and ways to develop "presence." Prior to teaching, I was in broadcasting for 25 years. My news reports, documentaries and sound portraits aired on National Public Radio, Voice of America and other news outlets.  I also produced and hosted a radio show on college life with students from Stanford University and Carnegie Mellon University. I am the recipient of three Golden Quill Awards from the Pittsburgh Press Club, two Matrix Awards from Women in Communication, and a fellowship from The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
