Susan Waterer Email and Phone Number
Ironically, in the field of communications, the biggest mistake we can make is not to listen. As a result, I have built a career centred on listening, focusing on what people are – and are not – saying to get to the heart of organisational objectives, challenges and opportunities. My personal motto is ‘you’ve got to get it right on the inside to get it right on the outside’. I make it a priority to understand the specific challenges and opportunities of an organisation, its people, and its target audiences to achieve change, from the inside out. I liaise with stakeholders, gather data and identify connections. As a result, I co-create and partner with clients in the implementation of truly considered and integrated inward and outward-looking strategies that not only engender support, but also deliver on targeted outcomes. I bring energy and commitment to improving brand awareness, reach and reputation. This is underpinned by 15+ years of experience spanning marketing, copywriting, PR, and events for B2B; a proven strength in change management; and, a dedication to building authentic, trust-based relationships with stakeholders. Key appointments to date include strengthening the communications and marketing capability at A.G.Coombs to support the modernisation of a 70-year old organisation while retaining its traditional values, and leading a series of rebranding initiatives at UGL Services in line with a period of significant M&A growth. Most recently, I have played an active role in advancing the mission of the Alertness CRC, building awareness, reach and opportunities for collaboration, and helping to establish a solid legacy.I welcome connections.
