I received my coaching certification after a successful career as an executive. I always thrived on helping leaders attain their potential. Coaching gave me the opportunity to continue my passion. My appreciation for the pressure corporate leaders to get results led me to "results-oriented coaching", enabling leaders to get results by focusing and motivating their direct reports. I also help executives improve their effectiveness as a member of the executive team and their work-life balance. My PhD in Psychology with a specialty in organizational development and behavior adds the second component of results-oriented coaching. All organizational results are the products of behaviors. I help leaders develop motivational skills based on well-established principles of organizational behavior and principles blended with real-world executive leadership experience. These principles accelerate the coaching process by providing leaders with a framework for establishing "positive accountability" that creates high levels of motivation and engagement. My clients are surprised at how simple leadership can be when their people are highly motivated to take on challenges and get results!Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, is the coaching relationship, my favorite aspect of the coaching role. This starts by establishing clear expectations and goals with the client. I know how difficult personal change can be, especially in the often-chaotic world of executive leadership. Motivational and leadership skills require behavior changes that grow through recognition for small incremental improvements. The key is to make these changes a positive experience for the leader through a trusted and nurturing relationship that recognizes improvement one success at a time.
