I'm dedicated to helping families learn how to recognize depression and bipolar disorder, get help, and advocate both for their own mental health care and better access to and quality of care for others. Caregivers are key players in suicide prevention! Families for Depression Awareness offers free learning opportunities for family caregivers online through webinars, livestreams, videos, and our website content. Visit familyaware.org/trainings to access our library of webinars. Massachusetts communities can host our Youth and Young Adult Mental Wellness programs in person or via Zoom. Workshops for adults include Addressing Family Stress and Depression; Understanding Teen Depression (English or Spanish); and Addressing Black Youth Mental Health. Our #TurnTo program for teen and young adults includes our Student Stress Survival Guide workshop and our Peer Storytellers, who visit schools and libraries to talk about their personal experiences with mental health. We help young people identify the adults they can to #TurnTo when they need help. And we're excited to be developing new programs to help family caregivers provide effective support and unite families in pursuit of better mental wellness. In my spare time, I have been a local government official since 1992, serving primarily on housing-related entities, I enjoy musical theatre (as an audience member), and I love to be creative with Lego bricks.I look forward to connecting with you and finding ways to collaborate.
