As the Coordinator (Stage Leader) of the Upper Primary group at Blue Gum Community School, I oversee the educational development and daily operations of our upper primary students, managing a dedicated team of four staff members. DAVEducation (Digital and Virtual Education or DAVE) provides meaningful, custom-made educational content for cultural institutions, visitor attractions and charities across Australia designed to meet state and national curriculum outcomes.Specialising in digital and virtual education, DAVE offers up to date technological and pedagogical ideas to invigorate learning programs and student experiences.

In line with the re-opening of SFMOMA in 2016 I have been contracted to conduct a peer analysis of selected institutions with regard to their media strategies across multiple content platforms. The analysis is intended to identify: the strengths and merits of said institutions regarding their media strategies; which platforms are used most effectively by these institutions; and how SFMOMA might respond to trends in multiplatform media publishing in the cultural sector. Based on this evaluation, I produced and delivered to SFMOMA a report outlining findings and recommendations.

WILD LIFE Sydney, owned and operated by Merlin Entertainments, engaged DAVEducation to overhaul their education and excursion resources in order to provide a holistic experience for students and teachers visiting the popular Australian animal adventure venue. I developed comprehensive units of work for all stages from Early Stage 1 (kindergarten) through to Stage 5 (year 10), with cohesive lesson plans, worksheets and planned assessment tasks.

In 2012 the Sydney Opera House began providing learning experiences onsite, offsite and online through a new digital education program. This is in keeping with its commitment to further extend its reach to young people across NSW and, in time, the whole nation.I was deeply involved with the inaugural, landmark digital excursion Discover the House. It is a roaming, interactive tour of The House, aimed at stages 2 and 3, which brings the history and architecture of this significant Australian building to life. Students have full access to areas of the Opera House that are impossible to view when on a physical excursion, and interact with their guide using classroom video conferencing technology. As well as working on scripts and content for video packages, I curriculum mapped the excursion and wrote the accompanying unit of work, complete with lesson plans, research contracts and worksheets.

In 2012 the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) re-opened after a building program that included the creation of the National Centre for Creative Learning. I developed an animation workshop for primary school students, which investigates moving images, and helps children to learn about animation processes and explore techniques to animate forms. Inspiration is gathered from artworks in current exhibitions and students to collaboratively design simple animations in the Digital Studio. This excursion is offered year round to all stage 2 and 3 students visiting the MCA.

I was asked by the charity Dot Com Mob to visit a remote indigenous community and write a weeklong workshop to help them develop their technology skills. After spending time on the island and speaking with school principals, teachers, community and council leaders it became apparent that the Bwgcolman community had unique and varied stories to tell about their Palm Island lives. The children also had special stories about their way of life and treasured places on the Island. I constructed a five-day program based on sharing these stories.
