Pivoting career direction into the healthcare regulatory sector, I am delighted to be advising at the General Dental Council. Before, I was a veteran Civil Service lawyer, based at the Department for Business and the Cabinet Office. There, I gained extensive expertise in the interface between law, politics, government and public policy, advising Cabinet Ministers and officials on high profile, high value, complex, novel challenges with national and international impact. Prior to this I worked for an international corporate law firm, as a associate lecturer at the London School of Economics, and as a researcher. My academic work has been published by Oxford University Press amongst others.I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a past Chair of the Association of Women Solicitors, a former board member and trustee of national charities, and an award-winning advocate for diversity and inclusion. Having lived in 9 countries, I am aware of the nuances of different settings. I speak Kannada, French, German and some Italian.Alongside my career I have also undertaken significant caring responsibilities for both my parents and other close family members.
