As Head of External Relations at IISS (The International Institute for Strategic Studies), I am responsible for the team that leads our relationships with corporate partners, sponsors, individual members and embassies across the world. It is a global role focussed on geopolitical and geo-economic risk in areas that could lead to conflict. Global security and political risk is at our heart and helping corporates make the right decisions in key markets across the world is my passion.Prior to IISS, I was Regional Director at the UK's leading business organisation, responsible for the CBI's operations in the South East and Thames Valley and advocating for business at a local and national level. I worked for the CBI for over eleven years and led a team who represent businesses across a variety of sectors in London, South East and Thames Valley. My team was responsible for delivering a successful regional events programme, influencing regional policy and managing corporate relationships. I also managed the strategic development and engagement with key external stakeholders in the region. Prior to the CBI, I was Project Manager at the London Business Network which helped businesses, particularly small and medium sized enterprises, access opportunities and contracts from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and its supply chain. I was responsible for delivering a vast programme of events, securing sponsorship and stakeholder engagement.I am passionate about business and current affairs.
