I am a founding partner of Inkling LLP established in September 2011. My core skills are in dynamic thermal modelling for buildings. I have used TAS Dynamic Thermal Modelling (DTM) software since 2001, and am expert in it's application and use in informing comfortable and energy efficient building design. I have worked on a wide range of projects, and I relish the challenge of a constantly changing workload.I co-lead on writing the recently published LETI operational modelling guide which gives advice on using energy modelling tools to help achieve compliance with the Climate Emergency Design Guide.I am a CIBSE bronze medal winner for my voluntary contributions to the industry. These include helping to author CIBSE TM59 and TM54, and judging for the CIBSE Energy Performance awards 3 years running which was a great honour. I was pleased to find that my career analysing energy performance meant I could contribute robustly to the judging debate. I have also been on the technical/advisory committees for the CIBSE technical symposium every year and the CIBSE conference, and appeared in the CIBSE journal several times; it’s been nice to find my opinion being sought.I tweet as @InklingLLP, with over 2500 followers – and I coined the hash tag #BuildingPhysics.I have previously worked for Fulcrum Consulting and then Mott MacDonald as head of the Building Physics team. I was also a BREEAM assessor, interim IT support, post occupancy assessor and Christmas panto writer/director.
