Metropolitan, a privately held Arkansas bank, was the fifth largest bank in the state, with 49 branches across the state and more than $1.8 billion in assets prior to the economic downturn in 2008.Served as instrumental part of Metropolitan’s executive team. Oversaw strategic direction and execution for bank during financial crisis. Oversaw sales management for all areas of bank. Directed retail management of branch network and branch/ATM design and network distribution. Led direct and indirect consumer lending. Managed human resources and staff development. Oversaw bank operations and customer service center, information technology, retail and commercial electronic banking, and corporate treasury management services. Oversight of marketing and public relations with annual budget of $1,500,000. Managed $375,000,000 investment portfolio, with finance and accounting division oversight. • Led the bank through several years of regulatory supervision, while maintaining a strong retail franchise and reduced nonperforming assets from $285,000,000 to $100,000,000, which enabled bank to be positioned for recapitalization.• Successfully recapitalized bank through a unique transaction utilizing a voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing of the bank’s holding company, which resulted in the bank’s sale to Simmons First National Corporation.
