Susie Warran-Smith CBE DL is a Non-Executive Director of HMRC and at The British Library and is also an award-winning businesswoman, author, broadcaster and speaker. She was the founder and sole owner of the multiple award-winning Breakthrough Funding, which was sold to EY (Ernst and Young) in 2020. She went on to become an Executive Director (Europe, Middle East, India and Africa) there, until her retirement 2 years later. In 2022 she became a Commander of the British Empire for services to small business in Queen Elizabeth II’s New Year Honours list and a Deputy Lieutenant of the county of Kent. For 6 years she was a non-executive member of the Audit and Risk Committee at the Department for Communities and Local Government (now DLUHC) and has been a trustee of Lantra Sector Skills Council and the University for the Creative Arts. She is currently Executive Chair of Produced in Kent.She has won many awards including Kent Business Woman of the Year and the London and South East Director of the Year by the Institute of Directors. She is an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accounting (CIPFA), has been a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and has an MBA in Finance and Corporate Strategy.
