I am a Design Manager and Architect with special focus on the Wireless domain. Over the last twelve years or more, I have been building teams and leading projects to transform Wireless algorithms as well as protocols into silicon architectures both at IP and at SoC level. This has meant developing understanding of DSP concepts and HW-SW partitioning, as well as the ability to work with other functional teams.I have been particularly fortunate in getting chances to see through the entire product development cycle from a fairly early stage in my career. It's a thrill when an idea on a whiteboard finally turns into something real and starts working in the lab and beyond.I have also worked in the Digital TV and Networking domains before my current stint. Here is a summary of specific skills that I have acquired over all these years.Wireless ICs- Realizing Wireless IC solutions from scratch.- Specification and design of specialized communication IPs related to Forward Error Correction as well as other areas.- SOC integration.- Currently working in the O-RAN space to define and implement semiconductor products that would be deployed in realizing 5G-NR and future wireless standards. This project has led to insights in different domains - High Performance Computing, High Speed Ethernet, CPU & DSP Architecture, and of course, Wireless.Before this, have worked to realize semiconductor solutions implementing the ATSC3.0 and DVB-T2 series of standards in my ongoing tenure at Saankhya Labs.Digital TV ICs - Experienced the evolution of several generations of Digital TV architectures. - Design and architecture of interconnect and memory subsystems of complex SOC platforms. - Definition and development of digital IPs in Digital TV systems. - Integration of SOCs, and handling of all the diverse issues associated.Other technical skills- Worked in both board design and IC RTL design in the Networking domain prior to taking up projects in the Consumer & Wireless domains.Management/soft skills- Have recruited engineers, trained them, formed teams, and have led them to the final delivery. - Have led both small and large projects. These include IP/module development, as well as entire SoC tapeout.- Used to working across geographies in multicultural environments.- Experienced in working with subcontractors and subcontracting companies, and also members of the academic community.
