I earned my PhD in Communications and Media from the Institute of Communications Research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My research interests are media and culture industries, business service industries, cultural history of capitalism, and transnational consumer culture. My doctoral dissertation was about the historical development of the Indian advertising industry during the 1960s. I conducted archival research in the US for my dissertation. In the future, I hope to develop research topics in the intersection of advertising, media, and marketing industries and its relation to consumer culture in India. As an advertising historian, every decade of advertising interests me, however my own research focus lies in the 1950s-1960s era.I have certificates in Mentoring, Leadership; and am trained as a writing consultant from the University of Illinois. I am open to teaching and research positions. I am passionate about faculty training and development, and organizing writing productivity groups.
