I like the saying, "If I had more time, I would write a shorter letter." I pride myself on taking the time to present my litigation matters in as simple and interesting a way as I can. The easier I am to understand, the more persuasive I am. The more persuasive I am, the more likely my client is to win.My background is in complex commercial litigation, particularly breach of contract. I am a trial lawyer with significant experience trying commercial litigation matters to a jury. Over the past 10 years, I have been handling more and more patent infringement and trademark cases. My practice now includes a large percentage of patent litigation matters before all federal courts and the ITC. I also handle trade secret, unfair competition, and copyright matters, both at the trial and appellate levels. I had the honor of being named to Best Lawyers in America, 2018, in Intellectual Property Litigation; and one of the Top 100 lawyers in Michigan for 2016 by the Thompson Reuters "Super Lawyers" publication. Over the past 25 years, I have handled many jury trials, both patent and commercial. I have argued several matters before the Sixth Circuit and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals, including the seminal "KSR v. Teleflex" case.Whether a patent or contract dispute, my goal is to grasp your core problem and work to resolve it. I am more interested in long-term business relationships than one time engagements and am open to success based fee arrangements.
