Thames Valley Capital provides growth capital across its three funds.My role involved:• Due diligence in relation to prospective investments;• Post acquisition reviews and integration of completed investments; • Refinancing and management of debt facilities;• Monitoring and working with investee companies; and • Board reporting.Projects included:• Interim CFO for a software company;• Due diligence in relation to the acquisition of two c£8m turnover printing companies, restructuring the businesses and integrating into the portfolio;• Due diligence in relation to £1m acquisition of aerospace engineering business and subsequent refinancing;• Due diligence in relation to £1.5m acquisition of steel fabrication business and financing of deal;• Due diligence in relation to cornerstone investment in technology company and management of external due diligence process and financial modelling in relation to pre-IPO fund raising round.

I undertook a range of lead advisory and due diligence assignments including:• Lead advisory for £15m turnover roofing maintenance and refurbishment business;• Due diligence for £1m investment in an energy saving products business; • Due diligence for £7.5m investment into higher education college and associated property; and• Strategic review of electronics manufacturing outsourcing business.

Associate Director in the Christchurch Corporate Finance Advisory practice.- I undertook a four and a half month secondment into a listed port company covering the business analyst role and played a key role developing the board reporting, financial modelling and business case procedures.- Due diligence in relation to the acquisition of a significant New Zealand agricultural business.

Manager in the Christchurch Corporate Finance Advisory and Private Client Services practice.I undertook a range of Corporate Finance, Transaction Services and Business Recovery assignments including:• Two month secondment into a Canterbury manufacturing business to prepare the financial information for their IPO prospectus.• Negative assurance due diligence report for a technology company IPO.• Statutory opinion on prospective financial information for a separate technology company IPO.• Lead advisory for capital raise for a wood products business including preparation of information memorandum, liaison with private equity, and financial modelling and valuation calculations.• Management of trading receivership for energy products business.

I worked as a Business Services Manager and also had significant involvement with the Business Recovery team in relation to several special projects.Role summary and highlights:• one of three managers responsible for a team of 15 staff.• reviewed all work and managed workflow for two partners.• HR responsibility including performance reviews for four staff.• undertook an independent appraisal of high profile textile business leading to >NZ$100m fraud investigation.• undertook independent appraisal of mid-level contracting business leading to successful implementation of turnaround plan and management of $NZ10m loan facility.• due diligence in relation to the acquisition of local wood products distributor by major European manufacturing business.• several 'virtual financial controller' roles working with businesses to improve their management reporting and forecasting.

This role was where I undertook my ICAEW training contract.I worked across the audit, business services and taxation departments.The firm had clients across a wide range of industries.I gained a broad range of experience and strong accounting skills in this role.
