Our work at HiT /Mattel involves all aspects of catering for the global business requirements of globally recognised entertainment brands including Fireman Sam and Bob the Builder.Working closely with Production, PR and Marketing teams we would create and then re-purpose creative work across multiple channels and media outlets in order to provide full 360º support for all business activities, truly getting under the skin of the brands and driving them forwards to achieve measurable business results. With close ties to our parent company Mattel, and reporting directly into Fisher Price, our creative output additionally covered the ideation of toy packaging and retailer environment concepts bridging the gap between brands and customer experiences while remaining true to the shows in all aspects of the work and its execution.• Develop re-branding for existing globally recognised children's licensed characters.• Develop packaging designs and guidelines for licensed brand properties. • Manage submission, quality control and delivery of licensed visual assets.• Creative retouching of high res imagery as required.• Design of various marketing materials and presentations.

Initially working at the John Brown offices under a short term contract, I later left in order to go freelance. Within a month of leaving I was contacted by the team and asked to continue to work on and maintain, a number of licensed character projects.Primarily this was the Shreks Quests monthly part work where I would work remotely with the editor and be solely responsible for the design and production of the magazine on a monthly basis.Publications worked on include:• Shreks Quests• SKILLZ (sic)• Dora the Explorer• Felicity Wishes• Pirates of the Caribbean• Sponge Bob Squarepants - Krusty Kards

Freelance designer and creative artworker

For two years I ran the design and production studio at Kingavon, an import and export business based in Ipswich, Suffolk.While here I was responsible for the day to day management of the design studio providing creative support to a nationwide sales team as well as overseeing and producing a wide range of packaging and marketing material to very tight deadlines.All packaging designs were then sent off to the manufacturers (primarily in China), where the goods would be produced and packed into our own packaging before being shipped in large numbers to the UK ready for distribution.

Worked under a short term contract on a number of children's part-work publishing projects including:• Rugrats Round the World• Dora the Explorer• Angelina Ballerina.

As lead production designer it was my primary responsibility to maintain the design and day to day production of the magazine on an ongoing monthly basis. This would typically have involved directing photo shoots, retouching images as necessary and laying out spreads prior to collecting files ready to be sent to press.

Working alongside the photographers based within the studio, it was my responsibility to run our own in house studio where we provided a range of graphic design services including photographic retouching and production of large format exhibition displays.
