Coordinator Of Safety & Security Planning
CurrentThis position serves as the critical administrative role in the effort to build, maintain and embed a culture of planning and preparedness around issues of safety and security at Chautauqua Institution. The Coordinator organizes the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and security policies, plans, and trainings for Chautauqua Institution. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organization, regional and national partners, and consultants, the Coordinator will keep the organization moving forward to develop and internalize a culture of safety, security and readiness in all employees and, to a certain extent, patrons. Expertise includes project management and excellent communication skills, including an ability to influence others. The ideal candidate will be able to work with colleagues to determine what plans and policies are needed and then engage internal experts and external partners and consultants to timely create and deliver those plans and policies.• Coordinate the development, implementation, and regular updating / maintenance of a comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan.• Coordinate the creation or finalization of venue- or program-specific evacuation and other emergency plans.• Coordinate the development, implementation, and regular updating / maintenance of event specific security plans for major event types such as “sold out concert” or “high profile speaker.”• Coordinate the development of and maintenance of a plan for safely sharing campus spaces (i.e., traffic safety).• Coordinate the development, approval, disbursement and maintenance of Institution-wide policies related to emergency preparedness, safety and security.• Coordinate the development and implementation of department-level and organization-wide trainings and exercises on safety, security and emergency preparedness. • Oversee gate operations.• Serve as administrator to the Security Working Group, led by the Chief of Safety & Security.
