• Lead corporate communications strategy and media relations to support Equitable’s key commercial business areas, including Individual Retirement, Group Retirement, Equitable Advisors and Protection Solutions, which encompasses Life Insurance and Employee Benefits. This includes leading a talented in-house communications team, and directing PR agency teams, consultants and vendors. • Work in partnership with heads of commercial business areas to develop and execute compelling, multi-channel communications programs that drive business growth and build the Equitable brand among clients, prospects and financial professionals. This includes working closely with the Chief Marketing Officer and broader Marketing senior leadership team (content, thought leadership, social, enterprise, brand & client marketing).• Responsible for executing internal communications campaigns to engage and inform Equitable’s more than 8,000 employees and financial professionals, helping to foster the company’s long-standing commitment to building a culture of inclusion, professional excellence and continuous learning.

• Led strategic external and internal communications for Voya’s employee benefits business, which was the company’s fastest growing business line and represented approximately 25% of Voya’s operating earnings. In addition, oversaw internal and leadership communications for Voya’s global operation teams, which was represented by approximately 2,500 employees inside and outside the U.S. • In 2022, worked with talented in-house communications team to generate 850+ earned media placements for our combined workplace businesses (consisted of employees benefits and retirement business lines). • Developed award-winning communications campaigns: Awarded bronze in category of “Integrated Employee Communications” in the 28th Annual Financial Communications Society Portfolio awards in 2021 for Voya’s Customer Service Week campaign; finalist in the “Broadcast/Film/Video” category for the prestigious PRWeek’s 2021 Awards for a powerful conversation with Voya leaders about race that was posted to Voya’s LinkedIn channel following the tragic death of George Floyd. • Provided strategic communications support for some of Voya’s largest transactions. Specifically, this included deals to sell Voya’s annuities and individual life businesses in 2018; oversaw the acquisition of Benefit Strategies in 2021 to expand Voya’s footprint in the growing HSA market; and supported the $570 million acquisition of Benefitfocus, which was a leading benefits-administration company that added approximately 1,100 employees to Voya’s organization.• Served as the workstream leader for the Brand, Communications and Marketing workstream for a multi-year, multi-million-dollar cost management program at Voya supported by McKinsey & Company.

• Managed strategic internal and external communications for Voya’s two largest businesses at the time: retirement and annuities.• Responsible for media relations with a focus on helping preserve, protect and enhance Voya’s brand and reputation, which included developing and executing strategic communications plans to drive business priorities. • Specifically, my responsibilities included issuing news releases; drafting leadership bylines; facilitating media interviews; creating and editing videos; promoting product launches and business wins; supporting C-suite presentations and speaking engagements at industry events; and crafting engaging content to post on Voya’s social media channels. • Communications lead for Voya’s Unsung Heroes Program, which provides grants to K-12 educators in the U.S. to help bring their creatives ideas to life in the classroom. For the program’s 20th anniversary, increased total applications by 50% as a result of a comprehensive, multi-media communications campaign.• Served as the host of Voya’s Facebook Live Q&A broadcasts.

• Partnered with C-suite executives to drive culture change, increase employee engagement and execute on business priorities as the company transformed its model from print to digital.• Supported major organizational milestones such M&A activity, business-unit restructures, change management and the company’s emergence from Chapter 11.• Led communications team’s in-house, full-service video production unit creating 60+ videos each year, which translated into a tremendous cost savings for the business. • Oversaw HR communications, which included: employee benefits, compensation, wellness, DEI, talent acquisition, and L&D.• Additional responsibilities included: managing the company’s e-newsletter, company intranet, digital signage and internal social media tools (e.g., Yammer).

• Anchored weekend newscasts/reported for the No. 1 rated TV station in western South Dakota.• Received an Associated Press award in “General Assignment Reporting” for a story documenting the devastating impact severe drought was having on local farmers and ranchers.• Biggest national story was covering the 2004 presidential election, including interviewing Tom Daschle, U.S. Senate Majority Leader at the time, following his historic defeat for re-election.
